Net metering is a service available to members who generate energy on their property from a renewable source connected to GCEA's distribution system and capable of being operated in a safe and reliable manner.Below are examples of how net metering works.
Scenario 1: Your renewable energy system is online and producing enough energy to power all the loads in your home and is sending excess energy back through the meter onto GCEA’s power lines.
Scenario 2: Your renewable energy system is online but is not producing enough energy to power all the loads in your home. You are using all the energy you are producing and some energy from GCEA’s power lines to your home.
