GCEA CELEBRATED ARBOR DAY
WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS

Crested Butte Community School 4th Graders received tree seedlings on Arbor Day.
APRIL brings thoughts of spring, dreams of the gardens to plant, and Arbor Day. This year GCEA helped schools in Crested Butte, Gunnison, and Lake City celebrate Arbor Day with the planting of trees. All fourth graders in our service area received an Austrian pine seedling to plant and care for. Some students took the trees home to plant, others planted their trees on school grounds. Since 2007, more than 391,000 fourth graders across America have participated in the educational program.

TEACHER EDUCATION
Tri-State is hosting its third annual teacher training conference for co-op area educators this summer in partnership with the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project. NEED promotes an energy-conscious and educated society by creating effective networks of students, educators, businesses and government and community leaders to create objective energy education programs.
Teachers who live in GCEA's service territory, or who teach at a school in our area, are invited to attend. The conference fee, lodging, travel expenses and most meals will be covered by Tri-State. Teachers will also receive a classroom teaching kit valued at $300. Register at www.regonline.com/needtristate2013 or contact Gigi Dennis at 303-254-3620 for more information.
